Hi guys, My name is Kalan, I am the artist, writer, and creator of ” SELLING SOLES”. This comic strip has been a labor of love for me since I started drawing it as a daily strip for “The Daily Cougar” (the student publication at the UH main campus), under the working title of “MAXIMUM PEELOUT”. The art was less refined, and the characters, while bearing some resemblance to their current incarnations, were roughly hewn ideas in comparison to what they are today.
The comic revolves around the guy in the red tie giving thumbs up, Darius P. Clyde. Darius is a long distance runner with asthma and an odd predilection toward horrific food combinations. He is the consummate straight man, and exists in a world of extreme characters, who work within a high stress sales environment (a world I am all too familiar with). It really is funnier than it sounds…at least it is to me LOL. I will write other character bios in subsequent updates. I look forward to your feedback and commentary.
