San Jacinto Central Campus Department of Theatre and Film presents the 2014-2015 season:

 

“American College Theatre Festival – Texas State II”

(SJCC Department of Theatre and Film will host this National full length play competition)

Performances – Oct. 29 – Nov. 1; Colleges and University production dates and times are to be announced – Slocomb Auditorium and Powell Arena Theatre

Tickets – General Admission – $10 at the door

 

“Santa’s Christmas Magic: The Musical”

(Our 19th Annual Family Christmas Celebration)

Auditions – Nov. 2 and 3 at 6 p.m. – Auditions for ages 12 on up; Auditions for children – Nov. 19 and 20 at 6 p.m. – All auditions in the Powell Arena Theatre.  All auditions will be open to the public, no registration needed; Rehearsals for adults begin Nov. 5, and children begin Nov. 30.

Performances – Dec. 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. Curtain; Matinees Dec. 7 and 14 at 2:30 p.m. Curtain – Powell Arena Theatre; Special School Performances:  Dec. 4 at 9 a.m. and Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. Curtain – Powell Arena Theatre

Tickets – General Admission – $10 at the door; Discount price for all who purchase and pickup tickets two days in advance of the performance – $8; Call 281-476-1828 for educational ticket rate for the Special Performance.

 

1st Theatre Scholarship Auditions/Interviews

(25 Freshman Full Scholarships Are Available)

Dec. 10 at 6 p.m.; 2 – 1 minute monologues or 1 song and 1 – 1 minute monologue; Technicians bring examples of your work.

 

“Beauty and the Beast!!”

(Disney’s Stunning Blockbuster Musical for all Ages!)

Auditions – Jan. 20 and 21 at 6 p.m. for adults and children (open to the public, no registration needed) – Slocomb Auditorium; Rehearsals begin Jan. 23

2nd Auditions – Feb. 11 and 12 at 6 p.m. for children’s Chorus ages 6-13 (open to the public, no registration needed) – Slocomb Auditorium; Rehearsals begin Feb. 13

Performances – Feb. 25, 26, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. Curtain and Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m. on Mar. 1; Special School Performances:  Feb. 26 at 9 a.m. and Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. Curtain

Tickets – General Admission – $15; Discount price for all who purchase and pickup tickets two days in advance of the performance – $13;

 

“SJCC Student Produced Plays and Films”

(Featuring the best our student artists have to offer!)

Auditions – Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. (open to the public, no registration needed) – Powell Arena Theatre; Rehearsals begin Mar. 9

Performances – March 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. Curtain; Tickets – General Admission – $10 at the door

(Featuring a film by the SJCC Department of Theatre and Film, Crazy Raven Productions, and local film artists!!)

Performances – May 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. Curtain – Slocomb Aud.; Tickets – General Admission – $10 at the door

 

“KidSpot – Summer Theatre Camp”

(A theatre and film camp designed for participant’s ages 5 to 18)

June 8-12 and 15-19 – Slocomb Auditorium; A Children’s Play – TBA – performs at 7:30 on each of the Fridays
