UPDATE: Nepal Earthquake Relief Fundraiser – April 30, 2015
Various student organizations came together to raise funds for the Nepal Earthquake Relief Effort on April 30, 2015.
Grand total: $1650.69
Unpaid orders of dumplings: $90
Estimated total before May 11th Dumpling Sale: $1740.60
SSCB Lobby: The event began at 12:00 noon and ended at 5:00 pm.
Delta Lobby: The event began at 12:00 noon and ended at 3:00 pm.
Over 200 samosas were sold and about 2 jumbo cans and 10 large cans of corn were opened.
The following Student Organizations participated (in alphabetical order):

- Communication and Digital Media Association
- Indian Students Association
- Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers
- Model Arab League Student Organization
- Muslim Student Association
- Student Government Association
The following offices offered unlimited support and assistance to the student organizations (in alphabetical order):
- Facilities (Tiffany King)
- Intercultural Student Services
- Office of International Admissions and Programs
- Risk Management (Celina Gauthier)
- Student Life Office
The next event (Nepalese Dumpling Sale) will take place on Monday, May 11 from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm in Bayou Atrium I.
Donations:
- All monetary donations collected from the Thursday, April 30 event will go to the Nepalese Association of Houston.
- Other donated items are being kept in the ISS Office and will be removed during week of May 11th. Those items will be given to Nickels for Nepal through Helping Hands Charity Inc.
- Donations collected after our pre-sale (not including pending payments from the April 30 event) are going to ‘WE’ for CHANGE and the Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON).
- We are including the Nepalese Dumpling Order Form so that if anyone is interested in placing and order, they may do so.
