I scream, you scream, we scream for ice cream!

ButteredPecan_boxThe Slacker is back! Here to put homework on the table and wait until the last minute to do it. I have not done my homework this week because of…Blue Bell! Can anyone do work when such a big event for Texans is going on. Blue Bell came back on August 31st. The hunt to find the rare and mighty Blue Bell was on.

I of course had school that day. With every second that passed by in what seemed like a jail cell, I imagined Blue Bell selling out. As soon as I finished with my classes I rushed over to Kroger.

It was the moment of truth I saw this lady with about five buckets of ice cream leaving the store. As I neared the ice cream aisle I heard a couple say, “damn they’re sold out.” My heart broke into 1 billion pieces. I know it sounds like I’m making a big deal over ice cream but the only ice cream I ever eat is Blue Bell. I wised up and started calling stores to see if they had any left. With my luck most stores were empty.

I accepted my defeat and drove home calling it a night. I figured there won’t be any stores with Blue Bell until next week.

Later that night I got some great news. I follow Blue Bell on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook page. Because I want to be kept up to date. They revealed that the butter pecan ice cream flavor would be available later that week. My jaw dropped. Butter pecan is one of my favorite flavors. I don’t know why but I got a gut feeling that the next day would be the day I ate Blue Bell butter pecan ice cream. I set an alarm for 5 a.m.

I woke up when it was time for the mission. I drove to the store and went inside and then there it was, The golden glory of luscious creamy goodness. I kid you not I went to my truck turned the music up grabbed a spoon and forgot about the world. I didn’t finish the gallon, but I was pretty close. The creamy consistency and sweet to salty ratio of the pecans was there. Blue Bell has always been a part of my life and will continue to be a part of my life. How many of you guys are excited that Blue Bell has returned?
