Lana is a communication major who has a passion for travel, art, nature and organization. She is an outgoing person, and enjoys learning, reading, meeting new people and making new memories. After graduation, she plans to open a bed and breakfast in New Braunfels, Texas.
I am an African American male and I honestly feel like an outsider at the University of Houston Clear Lake. My first semester here was an eye opening experience. During my first semester I went out of my way to be friendly to my peers and professors at the school. However, I quickly realized that the no response to my “Hello” was the norm for my peers as well as for the professors. So the following semester I just keep to myself until my degree is earned so I can get the hell out of this place. Until then I will be the big black guy with the headphones on.
