Gravitational waves discussed in lecture

Learn how measurements of the collisions between black holes help improve science’s detection and understanding of gravitational waves as University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Physics Lecture Series continues Monday, March 20, 7-9 p.m., in room 1100 of the Student Services and Classroom Building.

Bernard Kelly will discuss “Simultaneous Gravitational and Electromagnetic
Signatures of Merging Astrophysical Black Holes.” Kelly is a research scientist who has done extensive work at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.

The public is invited and the lecture is free. However, for those seeking university credit, the cost is $15 for an individual lecture, $40 for any three lectures in the series, or $99 to attend the entire series.
