Common Reader Program to screen ‘Gleason’
The Common Reader Program along with the Film and Speaker Series will screen “Gleason,” March 25, at 7 p.m. in the SSCB Lecture Hall.
“Gleason” is a documentary that tells the story of Steve Gleason, a former NFL football player diagnosed with ALS who begins recording a video journal for his unborn son.
A discussion will follow the film over the topics of resilience and the effects of major illness on family. The speakers include: Richard Puzdrowski, associate professor of biology and Karen Alexander, program director and assistant professor of nursing.
There will also be a raffle of a copy of the reader signed by the author.
Tickets are free with a current UHCL student ID or $4.
