UHCL recognizes graduating veterans

The UHCL community is invited to the Veteran Graduation Ceremony held May 12 at 6 p.m. in the Bayou Building Garden Room.

During the ceremony, graduating veterans will be presented their veteran honor cord to be worn during the Spring 2017 Commencement Ceremony.

This event is being held in conjunction with the Soaring Hawks Celebration and requires tickets. Tickets are available in the Office of Alumni Relations, Student Life Office and Veteran Services.

To qualify for a veteran honor chord, veterans must have applied to participate in the Spring 2017 Commencement Ceremony, be honorable discharged or currently Active Duty, Reservist or National Guardsman. Copies of DD 214’s or military ID cards must be submitted to the Office of Veteran Services by May 11, 2017 to show proof of eligibility.

Those who cannot attend the ceremony may pick up their honor cords begging May 8 through May 12. Cords will not be issued the day of the Commencement Ceremony.
