How to throw a ‘Game of Thrones’ party

Season seven is coming.

The wait is over. The fan-favorite HBO series “Game of Thrones” comes back to TV July 16. What better way to ride the emotional rollercoaster we call “Game of Thrones” (GOT) than with a group of friends? Plan a GOT party so you can experience all the ups and downs of the first episode together.

PLAYLIST:

The Signal created a unique Spotify playlist for the event that features songs that could easily have been anthems for various GOT characters. Turn this playlist on to get into the spirit of the show.

DECORATIONS:

Of course, you can’t dec your whole living room out in medieval decorations, but you can sure try!

  • Pull out those old swords you wore to ComicCon last year.
  • You can buy this GOT banner with all the house sigils to hang anywhere.
  • Use this official GOT font to put up welcome signs, for the food table, or just for fun.
  • Bust out the GOT book series to decorate your mantle.
  • Head over to the official HBO store to buy all the collectibles for the party.

DRINKS:

It wouldn’t be a GOT party if you didn’t have wine. Don’t forget to drink from fancy goblets, or head over to the HBO store to buy Stannis’ wine glass or wine charms from each house.

  • Use these Dornish wine labels, Arbor Gold and Dornish Red to drink like a Lannister, and enjoy the best wines in all of Westeros.
  • If wine isn’t your choice of drink, print out these beer labels.
  • Also, check out these GOT inspired cocktails, because you drink and you know things.

FOOD:

What is a GOT party without food? You don’t need to stock up like it is a Baratheon feast, but your guests will definitely need more than popcorn to snack on during those intense scenes of the season opener.
