Kemah, TX, August 30, 2017 – Swamp folk know a thing or two about hurricanes and high water. That’s why Alan Franks, owner of Crazy Alan’s Swamp Shack knew Harvey would be bad , but he’d be back. The popular Cajun restaurant, will reopen its Kemah location Thursday, Aug. 31 at 11:00 AM. The restaurant promises to be open regular hours, with its regular serving of great Cajun food, seafood, drink and fun.
“Unfortunately, our-10 location is still more ‘swamp’ than ‘shack,’ after the rain,” Franks says, “So it’s closed until we can get all the ‘gators out or on the grill.” Getting the Kemah location open was a huge task. Kemah was badly flooded by Harvey, but it was important to get back up and running as soon as possible. “We’ve seen storms before. This one won’t beat us, either,” Franks says.
The Kemah location is the original Crazy Alan’s Swamp Shack, located at 310 Texas Avve., Kemah, TX 77565. The Swamp Shacks have been the home of great Cajun food for the Houston/Gulf Coast Area, with an extensive menu from Cajun influenced burgers, to signature dishes like Blackened Chicken Pontchartrain, to their famous crawfish, served hot, fresh and spicy all year ’round.
