In light of the recent revival of the global Me Too campaign, The Signal is encouraging the UHCL community to speak out against sexual harassment and abuse while supporting survivors. The Signal’s #MeToo coverage and ongoing project is aimed to raise awareness of sexual abuse and harassment.

The UHCL community can contribute to The Signal’s ongoing written and visual projects through sharing their stories and/or words of encouragement. Sharing can be completely anonymous and permission from The Signal to use the responses is optional.

To participate, you can stop by one of the various locations on campus where a black box with teal ribbon is located. Also, an online version of the response form can be found at: https://goo.gl/forms/WVH3rd2rorcbdp9w2.

There are three options to choose from: speak out, share solidarity and show support.

Speaking out presents the opportunity for survivors of sexual harassment/abuse to submit their stories in hopes their bravery inspires others.

Sharing solidarity lets survivors of sexual harassment/abuse who have found peace pass on words of encouragement.

Showing support is the opportunity for anyone to share why they stand with survivors of sexual harassment/abuse.

The physical box portion of the campaign will run through Dec. 1 at UHCL. Locations for the boxes include: Atrium I in the Bayou Building, the SSCB student lounge and the lobbies of the Delta and Arbor Buildings.

The online form will remain open indefinitely.
