The Communication and Digital Media Association (CDMA) is hosting its inaugural Student Film Showcase Dec. 6 in the SSCB Lecture Hall at 4 p.m. The UHCL community is invited to attend.

CDMA solicited student and alumni videos and short films between three and ten minutes in length, which will be screened at the event. The filmmakers will be in attendance to discuss their submissions with the audience.

This is the first such event hosted by CDMA, but there are plans to hold a showcase each semester. Other than UCHL standards for content and conduct, there are no specific categories for judging of the films or awards.

“We did not add categories to this first one, as we are just providing people with an outlet to allow their films to be shown,” said Johnathan Taylor, CDMA President. “We wanted to start off as a video showcase with no pressure for producing content for awards.”
