The Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class schedule for April 9-12, 2012 has been cancelled due to limited pre-registered attendees. We will instead hold the RAD class on Friday, May 18 (6:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m.) and Saturday, May 19 (8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). Dec. 7 – UHCL Police Swearing In Ceremony
Join the UHCL Police Department in welcoming three of its new officers at 9:30 a.m. in room 1219 of theUHCL Bayou Building. Cake and punch will be served at the ceremony.

Dec. 4 – UHCL Nature Trail Closed
The UHCL nature trail will be closed from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 4th so the UHCL Police can host the SARQUEST K-9 rescue unit and participate in K-9 training. There will be four to eight dogs with handlers conducting missing person or cadaver searches throughout the nature trail and woods. Controlled blood samples will be used, but not real cadavers. The dogs will be off the leash at times.

Chief Paul S. Willingham announced today that a team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®) will arrive Dec. 5, 2011 to examine all aspects of the University of Houston-Clear Lake Police Department’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services.

ANNOUNCEMENT UPDATE: Escaped convict captured
Joseph Comeaux, the prisoner who escaped during transport Monday, Nov. 30, has been apprehended. His capture ends a manhunt that offered a $30,000 reward.

Please be on the lookout for this man – Joseph Comeaux. He escaped prison transport Monday, Nov. 30 and was last seen in Baytown, Texas and is still at large. He is considered armed and dangerous.
