Celebrate the “National Day of Writing” with UHCL’s Rhet Fest

Attention lords and ladies:

Tomorrow, Oct. 20, is the ” National Day of Writing” and to celebrate, the  UHCL Writing Center  will be hosting “Rhet Fest 2010.”

The Rhet Fest will begin at 11 a.m.  and run until to 1 p.m. at the Alumni Plaza. There will be many literary activities, as well as the finest hot dogs in the land for all Rhet Fest to attendees to enjoy! Some of the  games that will be offered are: Boggle, Scrabble Challenge, Magnetic Poetry Slam and Diagram That. Rhet Fest you will be dining on a fine feast of hot dogs, fit for a king or queen, drinks will also be served.

Challenge Master Diagrammer, Pat Cuchens with a sentence or try your luck with a magnetic poem and be judged by Sir John Gorman, master of poetry.

You could also get your name done in calligraphy by the Writing Center’s own, Jacqueline of all Trades, Katie Hart. Other faculty who will participate in Rhet Fest are: Bernie Hall, Judy Hatcher and Hunter Stephenson will be there playing Boggle and Scrabble. The Writing Center staff will be dressed as their favorite literary character or author.

So come one, come all to Rhet Fest 2010! It will definitely be worth “writing” home about!
