IISS Dancing for Education Event

Join the Office of Intercultural and International Students Services as they host their first “Dancing for Education” fundraiser. The event’s goal is to raise funds for the celebrating Our Elders scholarship project. The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 22. Starting at 7 p.m. with free salsa classes and then free open dancing from 8-10:30 p.m. in Atrium 1 of the bayou building.

“It’s a fundraiser, but at the same time it’s a way to promote diversity through music, and then also promote health,” said Imelda Estrada, Program Assistant for IISS and Celebrating Our Elders. “The Celebrating Our Elders scholarship has been active at UHCL for 18 years and this fundraiser is a great way to benefit the scholarship.”

The event is open to students, faculty, staff and the community. There will be music provided by a DJ, food and a raffle. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
