Gotta love the Chinese market!

I have not done my homework this week because I spent the week learning about Chinese culture. This past week I went to the Chinese market, which I had never gone to before. I went in with an open mind expecting to find really weird food and fruits. I wasn’t wrong – there were some foods that I had never seen or heard of before such as canned oysters or green bean chips.

The atmosphere of the market was packed. There were so many people that were yelling about bargains and prices. It was like a riot for food. The prices weren’t too bad for imported Asian goods. I’ve gone to other markets such as The World Market and their prices are crazy expensive.

I was already starving when I got to the market so I looked around to see if there were any restaurants nearby. I ended up finding a noodle shop inside the market so I went over to check it out.

I must have had bad luck, because everything was written in other languages. I really should learn different languages because you never know when that will come in handy. Once I ordered something, I had no idea what, I waited patiently next to a mini waterfall. It was so relaxing.

The noodles were in a type of soup and contained some form of egg in it. I was a little skeptical at first, but man that stuff was delicious. It was like nothing I’ve ever had before.

I also go the chance to try bubble tea, which, by the way, is the best drink in the world. I have never had a drink that I could drink and chew at the same time! The drink is composed of some form of tea and it has tapioca balls on the bottom that are chewy. This is my new drink – forget Starbucks.

Overall the Chinese market was a new experience for me. It had a lot of good food and drinks for a reasonable price. Perfect for college students. I give the Chinese market 3/5 noodles.
