‘Prarie Land’
The drive to get there was really long
As we arrived at the place he chose
I wondered why we came alone
As realization and fear in me arose
Around the car I began to run
Until my youthful legs stumbled and slipped
In the backseat where he pinned me down
I heard his pants unzip
I saw the prettiest, brightest green
On the grass that lay still on the ground
I listened for the song it sings
As his darkness in me moved around
Sitting, remembering the prairie land
Some beauty that day I did see
As I fixed my shirt, pulled up my pants
I had lost a part of me
