Attack of the demonic dolls

I have not done my homework this week because I was haunted by a demonic dolls.

When it comes to the genre of horror, many people have different opinions as to what true horror is. It seems like throughout the years dolls, specifically demonic dolls, have intimidated people. It seems like the possessed doll movies have come to a dead end since the most recent “Chucky” installment has been on hold but recently it lookss that more demonic dolls are crawling out of their graves.

Growing up in a Mexican household my entire family told stories about dolls coming to life and claimed they were true. It got me thinking, “why does society find dolls so frightening? Dolls are meant to be harmless, inanimate objects.” This is one of the reason why I’m so paranoid of dolls.

As a child I was terrified of “Chucky.” My mom would use the idea of the doll “Chucky” as a scare tactic to get me to bed on time. My mom would tell me as a kid, “Go to bed Eric, because if you don’t Chucky comes and takes all the children that are awake past their bedtime. ” I know it’s horrible but that’s parenting at it’s finest.

“Annabelle” is a horror movie centered around a porcelain doll that becomes possessed and haunts a family. Another movie about cursed dolls that has emerged this year is “The Boy,” which is about a nanny that is supposed to take care of a child, but to her surprise, is actually a porcelain doll. It seems though that dolls are making a comeback.

I hardly hear anyone speak of “Chucky” the way they speak about “Annabelle” nowadays. It’s as if “Annabelle” and “The Boy” are the new “Chucky.”

I have a 5-year-old sister and I know that dolls can be creepy. Imagine being woken up to an Elsa doll tugging at your feet in the middle of the night. No thanks! Not doing my homework might have just given me nightmares for the rest of the week.
