On Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Army American Soldier Semi opened its doors to the UHCL community.

The Army American Soldier Semi is a semi-truck filled with army uniforms, interactive technology and simulations such as a Sensor Technology Station, an Air Warrior Display and Lasershot Target System.

Sgt. 1st Class Lolley, one of the army representatives on the truck, said that the purpose of the truck, “is to connect America’s people with America’s Army” and to “educate about army equipment and technologies.”

While the main purpose of the truck isn’t recruiting, the truck was accompanied by local recruiting officer Sgt. Arcesio Navarro.

Navarro said that the truck “raises awareness and helps people understand the army mission.”
