Dec. 14 – UHCL Toys for Tots Donations

The UHCL Pearland Campus is helping collect toys for children in need throughout the Pearland community. To donate new unwrapped toys for the holidays you can place your donations in the box at the UHCL Pearland Campus Library or at the UHCL main campus in the Office of Human Resources (room 2537 in the Bayou Building). Donations will be accepted until Wednesday Dec. 14. at the main campus and through the week of Dec. 12 at the UHCL Pearland Campus. Nov. 16 – Harvest Fair

Get your holiday shopping done in between classes today on campus. UHCl’s Support Staff Association (SSA) is hosting their annual Harvest Fair from 10 am. – 8 p.m. today Nov. 16 in Atrium II of the Bayou Building. You can shop from a large selection of vendors or stop by the SSA table which has a delicious selection of food. You can donate whatever you can for popcorn or purchase tamales for $1.50 or Frito pie for $2.

Nov. 10-13 – Houston Ballet’s 31st Annual Nutcracker Market

Get started on your Christmas shopping this weekend with the Houston Ballet’s 31st Annual Nutcracker Market. This year’s “Toy Town Texas” themed market will be held 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from Nov. 10 – 13 at Reliant Center. Admission is $12.

The Nutcracker Market features over 300 national and international merchants offering gift the whole family will love from home décor to sporting gifts. All proceeds from the market benefit the Houston Ballet Foundation, Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy and its scholarship funds.

I face quite a dilemma this Christmas: no money. At the moment my husband and I struggle to pay the bills and put food on the table; I am left to wonder how we are going to have much of a Christmas for our family.
