The group, comprised of 20 faculty, staff and students, hopes to engage the campus community in a variety of ways by beginning conversations and fostering learning opportunities regarding social issues.

All campuses, including the Pearland and Texas Medical Center locations, are limited to essential personnel and all summer courses will continue in an online format.

The UHCL will host a virtual commencement ceremony on July 17 to honor spring graduates. The event will take place at 6:30 P.M. on YouTube Live, and will be open to the public.

University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) is currently operating remotely, but the Patio Café, managed by Chartwells, closed officially as of May 16 and will not reopen until the decision is made to resume in-person instruction.

Over 1,300 signatures have been received since the petition was created on March 21. Similar petitions have also been created by students at University of Houston (UH) and University of Houston-Downtown (UHD).

The University of Houston-Clear Lake has cancelled all face-to-face and online classes for the week of March 16-21 due to concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19.

Starting with the spring 2020 semester, University of Houston-Clear Lake students will no longer be required to purchase their own scantron forms or blue books.
